WE HAVE OUR PI DAY CHAMPIONS! 🥧🔢
Last Friday, our champion set a Nathan Hale school record for the most memorized Pi digits. Srihari Sathish Kumar, a freshman, memorized 769 digits to win 1st place, a $2000 scholarship. His memory is truly infinite! Our 2nd place winner, Mia Bednarski, who participated last year and increased her memorization to 319 digits from 201 to earn the $1000 scholarship and our 3rd place winner was Jordyn Hull with 286 digits earned the $500 scholarship. Thank you to Anthony Leonardelli, class of 2009, for sponsoring the scholarships.
Other winners included Octavio Sandoval (12th grade winner), Yovanni Reyes (11th grade) winner and Joseph Carini (10th grade) winner.
Special thank you to Josten’s Renaissance who donated $25 Amazon gift cards to these winners. Also, thank you to Jenny Naber for creating and donating the medal for the 1st place and Nathan Hale’s PTSA donated treats and other prizes for the participants. Shout out to Mrs. Khopkar and Mr. Mulvey for helping Mrs. D’Haeze with the competition along with retired Spanish teacher, Profe Geboy-Helfenstein.
