French Students Travel to Chicago for French Immersion Experience!

Forty-three French students from Central and Nathan Hale High Schools recently embarked on a cultural immersion field trip to the Alliance Française of Chicago on Thursday, October 2nd. The students viewed the film “Un Monstre à Paris," in French, an animated feature with themes of friendship and acceptance. The film offers a way to learn about French culture and landmarks. Following the film, students participated in a hands-on French cooking lesson. They learned to prepare a traditional Alsatian tarte flambée (a thin-crusted flatbread pizza), a classic French vinaigrette salad dressing and, for dessert, a delicious tarte aux pommes (apple pie).
