Nathan Hale Students Celebrate Culture with Señorita Stepp at Puerto Rican Festival

This past Sunday, our Nathan Hale community had a vibrant dose of culture, thanks to Señorita Stepp’s generosity and dedication. She was able to secure donated tickets so that students could attend the 12th Annual Puerto Rican Festival of Wisconsin at Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee.

The festival, held on the Summerfest grounds, was a huge celebration of music, food, dance, and Puerto Rican heritage. From live performances on two stages and salsa lessons, to bomba y plena rhythms, authentic Puerto Rican foods like alcapurrias, arroz con gandules, and frituras, there was something for everyone. Families and students enjoyed interactive workshops, crafts, and a kids’ zone with games and bounce houses.

Señorita Stepp’s gift of experience offered students more than just fun—it was an opportunity to connect with a rich culture, practice Spanish, and share memories outside the classroom. We are so grateful for her effort in making this happen.

Senorita Stepp and students took a few selfies at the festival.
